Rush Sun3/5

Postby Jon Manwaring » Sun Mar 05, 2006 9:15 pm

Rush came thru inspite of NOAA. Arrived 10:30 to 8-12 slowly built till at 11;00 it was 12-16, peak gust of 20. Lasted about 3 hrs till it started to back off. For RUSH steady wind, no big gusts or low lulls. Rode nicely powered to sl OP'd on Rhino 06 16 M. Steve was on Torch 20 with sl more pull. Only two out. The 16 06 Rhino is a Great light wind kite. Both of us were on our smaller (136 cm) boards. I think I'm finished with BIG kites, for me Bigger boards and smaller kites or skim boards. OK temps mid 50's. Gloves and booties, but no killer finger thaw outs. Got to work tomorrow, off on Wed but sounds cold for the rest of the week. Kinda spoiled after two weeks of kiting in Africa on HOT, steady, trades of 14-20.

I went out yesterday, Monday 3/6
wind sucked 15-35
alone and scary gusts.
didn't last long before it started raining.
Not cold with right gear.
Did self launching and self landing practice,
with my Turbo Diesel.
Very safe feeling, even with big winds.
