3/11 Pineview & Pow Mow

I decided to follow Marty's recommendation. I checked Pineview in the morning and it was indeed blowing. I arrived to see a couple kites in the air and a bunch of ice fishermen. I decided to rig my 26M to see how much more pull it would give me. It did seem to generate more power, but it is such a heavy kite that I had to pul on the front lines a lot to keep it in the air. The wind was very light. After 45 minutes or so of fooling around on the ice, I followed Marty up to Pow Mow. It was my first time there. Augie met us in the parking lot. The wind was gusty out of the SE. Marty decided to wait out a snow squall. I couldn't wait so I rigged my 12M. I had pretty decent power, but I could not shoot the gap through the trees, the wind strength dropped dramatically when I went downhill. I decided to stay near the parking lot and do gravity jumps on the hill. Had a good session for just over an hour. All in all, I was pleased to get in some kiting on a day that did not have much promise.
