Web Cams

I wasn't paying attention. Typical. Were the new webcams posted? Da Crick, Lindon, Willard all coming on line, maybe this month. Good news for us who prefer to see what's up. http://www.livelakeview.com/
Bad news may come in the form of entry fees for Pelican. Is this inevitable? Discuss.

I love the webcams. The one at Lindon kept me from blowing a trip to UL the other day when I realized it was raining.

If I read the sign right at Pelican, it sounds like you only pay if you trailer in a boat to launch. They have put in a gravel overflow parking lot. I heard one time last year there were so many boats show up for a fishing event that they were parking throughout the neighborhood. I hope that never coincides with a windfest day. Lets hope they don't start charging for "day" use. Maybe the club could get in tight with the park group by doing a cleanup campaign.

I miss Rocky. The last 2 times to Pelican it was all I could do to keep the reeds off my fin. There was a really thick band of them about a hundred yards offshore; too close to stay inside of them and too far to stay east of them due to the cold conditions. I have a Power weed fin but all my boards are Tuttle now. I bit the bullet last week and ordered a new weed fin.

as a general rule sailing days are not ideal boating days so i think ken is right and we may be golden for the time being at pelican. are the reeds coming up all over or is it just pelican?

as for a rush cam, it'd be hard to imagine anyone sponsoring a link with images of a disappearing resource. it's the powerboat people they are targeting. we are benefiting but we are not really the demographic of interest at this point.

btw, where is all the water going? where's a hydrologist when you need one? is it melting so slowly as to be absorbed as ground water and not runoff? good for the water table. bad for reservoirs, natural or manmade.
