Rush access and conditions?

Well, it seems like Rush might have been a good option today, but the last time I was out there, I was really confused about how to get to the lakebed. I'm guessing that it's going to be a hike from the road, but where's the best place to park? My recollection is that the roads on the west side were pretty narrow.
