We drove to Sulpher Creek today. The reservoir was mostly snow covered with a fast surface. Ice fisherman abound. However, there was NO wind on or near the reservoir. Evenstan Burns was reporting 16G20 but we were not familiar with the area and only found the Burns area with some aggressive jungle-like sage. Very likely we were in the wrong place.

I just got back. I got there around 1:45 and the wind was already blowing. I was slightly overpowered on a 12m Manta. There's hardly any snow up there. The only snow was on the ice and it was a windblown bumpfest. Not worth the trip unless you're desperate. I noticed some great looking terrain when you come out of Echo Canyon by Wahsatch, on the south side of the highway. Just have to figure out how to get to it.

thanks Ralf and TSterling, for the conditions reports. We almost headed that way also, but wanted to explore Strawberry more.
Ralf if you figure out the other Wasatch area on the way to Evanton and think it's suitable for begginners, please post info. that's very cool you got to go to Maui, you lucky dog!
