Rush is liquid

Yes, it's thawed, that's the good news. Bad news is that there is not much of it. From where we launch, it only goes South to the fence line and to the North just past where the road comes down to the beach. Didn't go in but looks like it's maybe only 6"-12" deep. Very shallow till the middle. Birds were standing up almost 1/2 way across. No snow around and mostly gone on surrounding hills. Not much chance for direct run off. Hope is that it will seep in from somewhere. Kited it last year in the middle of March and it was 2'-3' deep in the middle. Sooo hopefully it will fill from someplace. Will have to just wait and see. Need to start thinking Yuba or Mona for the South days and UL for Norths. They are a little tougher to forecast but could be the only games in town. I maybe a snowboy longer than I had planned this year. I'll have to put the foils away and just fly my LEI's and wear boardshorts over my snowpants to get in the mood. :( :( :(

That is so sad!! The past few years I've noticed that the water level we get at thaw is the level we get for the season. No additional water flows in after the initial thaw. Real bummer for us. :((
