Not exactly kite related, but a tragedy none the less.

Shane McConkey died earlier today in Italy during a ski base jumping accident. not a lot of details have been released yet, this ESPN article seems the most complete.

Shane defined progression.. he pioneered ski BASE jumping, and was one of the main forces behind the reverse cambered ski evolution after his descent of an intensely steep pitch in Alaska on water skis.

Survived by his 3.5 year old daughter and wife..

RIP Shane, you will be missed.
