Race Weather Announcement

Postby windzup » Sat Jan 23, 2010 10:04 am

Snowkiting is a weather dependant sport, and we have been waiting all week to make any announcements about this weekends race until we saw the final outcome of this storm. A few days ago it looked like it may have been a no wind white out. As of this morning (Saturday) the forecast is looking golden for Sunday at most locations across Utah. Today will likely be good as well, but not truly clearing out until tonight. Todays strongest and cleanest wind is forecasted for Skyline.

We are postponeing the race at Strawbs until Sunday when the most favored conditions are forecasted. For anyone out and about today, we will offer GPS Speed Trials at Skyline. Winds in the upper teens should allow for some fast runs.

To provide the funnest race format, we need to follow the best conditions, which does not always allow us kiters to pin point exactly when and where the best days will take place.

We have been in touch with everyone that had RSVP'd about the racing, but wanted to post here for all to share.

Feel free to text with any questions at 435-262-2535.
Excitement, adventure... a Snowkite Jedi craves not these things.

Any plan for where the race will be at Strawberry? Strawberry River? Chicken Creek?

Chicken Creek would be the best option for speed.
