New school kite board flexes?

Postby bordy » Fri Sep 03, 2010 10:49 am

I have noticed a bit of a trend in boards getting softer and was wondering if others have ridden the softer flexes and what their thoughts are?

My new Underground FLX is softer than my old ones especially in the tips. It's a smoother ride in the bigger chop and swells and the tips don't dig in and spray me in the face. I was wondering if it would slower but doesn't seem to be. Definitely has nice pop for jumps.

I'm just very surprised how well the new Xenon boards,
that are very soft and flexi, do in the nasty chop,
they really smooth out the ride.

I do notice some of the board companies are going softer on the new board. I think it has to do with what their riders and customer want.

I hate soft flex for my riding style but I can see other riders like the advantage of soft flexs thru chops.

The underground boards used to be stiff all around. I still like their old underground boards. I wish I can buy that old board back from Doug.
Every year their boards are getting softer and more popular.

Samething with Best boards. The Best old Pro model boards was stiff all over. When the Best Drive and Floater boards came out, the board were getting softer and more techincal flex every year. I asked to bring back the old Pro model stiff back. They did. It's called the Profanity. I'm looking forward to it.

The soft flex are getting popular.

 SOFT FLEX SUCK!!!!!!

It all comes down to what riders want, right?

See you out on the water in two weeks!!!
