Yea, this was a sucker launch spot! I remember I had hike up to my car after a long hard riding session. It was sweet to have this long and open beach.

I like BWB better!!!

Thanks for posting these photos.

Ha - I was just thinking about that today as I was riding. The water is getting more shallow in DC but I don't think we'll see that old launch anytime soon. I do remember that it was easier to see guys through the DC web cam when we launched there - you could even tell who was riding sometimes.

Nothing like having the green gew on your lines and making them weigh about 75lbs more

I was lucky enough to have "learned" how to kite on that "beach" with plenty of room to walk upwind. I can't imagine how many canopies I would tear on bushes if I were learning today. I like the little gravel beaches that are forming right now, it's a great place to keep boards, but I do miss the high water pool.

Ralph, thanks for posting. I prefer our current beach. By the way Chris, the "high water pool" that you referred to is actually the "Pro Pool". :)))

The launch(s) I miss were the ones we used to have at Utah Lake. You could drive out on the hard sandy beach.

The weird thing is that during those years, Utah Lake had a low water level, but Rush had a lot more water. That was pretty sweet. DC sucked for launching during those years. I remember summers where the number of posts from DC were only a handful. The water level was high and we were launching off rocks.

Kenny - when you, Billy, Jake, Spencer and a handful of others are in there - it's the pro pool. When I'm in there it's more like a kiddy play pool.
