Nice vid! Looks way fun. I have 3 SUP's. Looks like they are using small fins so they can slide the board around and make them really loose. 2 line fixed, super light kite looks mandatory for this type of kiting. Are you an F-one guy now? Tell us about the SOURCE kite. Get a couple of those kites and let's go!!! Looks like they are riding in wind that would be unkitable with a Zephyr/raceboard combo. You are right, Utah Lake would be perfect for this in the 8mph range.

oh yeah, that's great! I was flying my 13M kite at Powell on the shore and stepped onto the Start board in super light wind that barely kept the 13 meter kite up; It was too light really. After going out a 100 feet or so the breeze died and I had to paddle back in. But I have wanted to try it again. I will give it a better chance next summer at Powell after seeing this! Evening local thermals are pretty reliable if you're in the right spot. A lighter kite would definitely help.

Utah lake'd be fine... South of France or Maui might even work a little better. In Maui, you'd see whales in the winter, Turtles and Tigers in the summer! Utah lake you'd see some pretty big carp, maybe a rogue catfish here or there... But I'd join for sure on a Utah lake SUPBK excursion. Great video. thanks for posting it Chris.

I plan to use my 79 liter wave board for kite last summer but never get to use it. I think the potential is great. All we need is a smaller fin for our windsurfing board. . . wait, it is call windsurfing.

A 2-line 17M kite might work great on an ocean breeze or possibly on a really steady night at ULSSB, but at other Utah locations - I don't think so. I remember a few riders that used to ride pulley bars in Utah a number of years back, didn't last long as our winds are so gusty. It would be nice to ride unhooked with a 17M, but I suspect the opportunities would be far and few. Might as well just use a Zephr. If the wind is light and steady enough, unhook and give it a whirl.

I have an inflatable SUP that I bought from Jason. I was thinking that with my 21M Speed 3 that I could ride in wind as light as 5 mph. I don't know if it will be much fun, but the next time we are all standing around waiting for the wind to come up at Lincoln I will have to give it a try. Watching the video, I realize that my SUP is more like a tank, not very nimble.

Yes I have gone over too F-one kites as a team rider and snowkite informant/ambassador and Im going too be at all the NAST tour stops and Snowkite Masters. The paddle board kite is going too work like Kenny says on smooth light north wind at utah lake. Hopefully something to play around with before the wind picks up, and maybe a way too get kids and family involved. I can't wait too take my 4 year old niece out she loves the water.

Chris,

Congratulations on your sponsorship. I have heard some great things about the Bandit 3. I hope I get the opportunity to try one some day.
