Ryan charged hard on the course, neck and neck with Chasta on the crosswind and downwind legs. Chasta went deep and low on the final run while Ryan took the high road, coming in faster, but having to cover more ground. The direct line Chasta took was slower, but had shorter mileage to cover. Awesome Race!

Props go out to Jake Buzianus, who hit the start line late (way late) but rampaged the course to come in a respectable 4th place behind Matt Thames (Oregon Pro Rider).

Tom Reynolds was in the mix with the top 3 skiers including Jon McCabe and Brad Gordon, coming in 3rd overall. Jon and Brad had just come in from 4 weeks of racing in a row, with Jon claiming the overall ski Champion title from the Nast, and Brad scoring the US Open title.

Bummed to hear you were sick DK, You missed a great time with some high level riders, lots of gliding (although I think Kenny went highest and farthest) but most of all you missed some epic conditions at Skyline.

Truth be told Ryan had no idea Chasta was in the Race. Brian sent the snowboarders first and said Chasta would be the "Pilot" and show the course layout, Ryan had a huge lead over averyone else and didn't know Chasta Counted, he was slowing down to let Chasta "lead the way" as Brain had said Chasta would do. He even slowed down when he passed us while we were taking pictures he was making turns down wind and having fun enjoying what he thought was a "easy win" It was not in till Brian annoced Chasta the winner that Ryan even knew Chasta was racing and not just the course Pilot... Ryan was much faster and passed Chasta several times and rode the last leg with his kite depowered thinking he had the win wrapped up.

Ryan Allen is UT's newest Champion!
