Drysuit seals

Postby Mark Johnson » Sun Mar 25, 2012 7:42 pm

I just wanted to pass on this website I used to order new wrist seals for my Ocean Rodeo dysuit. They delivered fast and fit perfect. The price I was charged at first was a few bucks higher than they advertised, when they shipped they refunded the overcharge and reduced for the cheaper postage without me having to ask. I would recomend buying from them. I did the neck seal last year and now I wished I would have bought ankle seals as they tore Saturday at Rush lake. I just ordered them and will see how well they work.

I would like to pass along a little knowledge that I have acquired from years of river running and drysuit gasket repairs.
KEEP THE GASKETS LUBED! They need to be conditioned every 2-3 times you use your suit. If you do this the seals will last for years. I have some seals that last 10 years or so before needing replacement. McNett seal saver is made specifically for this purpose. However, I have also found that a silicone based sex lube ( no shit) works well also and does not harm the silicone rubber. It also makes the gasket easier to get on. :??

Smart-ass comments may follow now.............
