DKT concluded for Mike, Sal and Les.

Thursday - 10pm met in Ogden started trip, drove till 3am slept out in the middle of nowhere.

Friday - Got to Rufus around 2pm. Many of the Utah crew was there. Rufus was nice. plenty of smooth rock beach to swim to if necessary, fast current, to easy to stay up wind. 2 hour session. Later, winds picked up and gusty. We were all powered on small kites for another couple hour session, me down to 10m bul, perfect. My first swell, was fun.

Saturday - Sand bar. Started out strong and eased up for some good 16m riding. Not to crowded, fun. Not as exciting as Thursday for me. Billy and Todd had some good excitement and channel swimming. Tiki Party. Great food and huge portions. Lots of beer, late night, and mello slam dancing at a bar. Todd's a lady killer. Sal likes to sneak in and work his latino charm. Quote of our trip, "blame it on the mexican", sals says when things go wrong. And "this is mexican territory, my territory" when negotiating our next free camping spot.

Sunday - Yason and Sal work off hangover. Go to breakfast and then sandbar. Light breeze early, looks promising. Eager to kite and make progress back home, we make the mistake of going back to rufus. Winds picked up shortly after at the bar. Hung out until 3pm at rufus waiting for wind. Sal and I, and others, got some riding in then the wind completely died. Mike didnt bring a big kite and sat. Headed home, back by 2am.

good trip, I'd do it again. Gorge is great. The rest of the guys that stayed must be loving it.
