Meltdown at the Meltdown

Postby Craig Goudie » Fri May 03, 2013 10:07 am

Some spirited conversation at the Meltdown last night. I like passion,
but my preference is on the water. Wonder if it's the end of an era.
Rick H has kept the UWA alive for a long time, so thanks (and respect)
for a thankless job.

I would like to thank all the UWA officers for their efforts, they often go
unnoticed. In particular I'd like to mention Peter Miller (because I got a very cool
plaque), but seriously, Pete really seems to try and get the stoke going for everyone,
I appreciate it, and I think you should too.

In case you missed the meltdown, or just want to see the video again,
a copy of Switch is on-line here. It's a tolerable watch, and has both kiting
and windsurfing (in approximately equal amounts).

Next year can we change the name of the event to UWA Gathering? I don't think I could handle another meltdown.

Thanks Rick for all your patience and perseverance, you certainly held it together in the face of adversity. For me, one of the highlights of your presentation was the use of the overhead projector. I have not seen one of those in 20 years and I have never seen anyone incite a riot with one, very impressive.

Craig, Because of conflicts I was not able to attend the Meltdown this year but sure appreciate getting to see your videos on this site. You go above and beyond with your video and forecasting work. Much appreciated. Duane
