Total inflow average yesterday was 41042 cfs (cubic ft. sec.) at Lake Powell... I guess the Columbia River would've filled Rockport in a matter of hours... At Lake Roosevelt on the Columbia(Grand Coulee Dam) it saw 152,000 cfs come in... (152,000 cfs*60sec*60min*24hr)/43,560 cf=301,487Acre feet... Rockport is about 75,000AF capacity full pool... Jordanelle is about 306,000AF, DEER CRIK is around 193,000AF I believe. As Bobby Buche from Waterboy would say, "That's some H20!"
I wonder what the Amazon is?!?
Snikeys! I just answered my own question... I looked up Amazon flow... During the rainy season, it pumps 6.5 Million Cubic feet per second into the Atlantic Ocean... That is 12.8 million Acre Feet a day... It could fill Lake Powell from Empty to full in a little under 2 days... Lake Powell is 24 Million Acre Feet...
see you on the water.
PS Let's just hook a hose up to one of those and leave it running at Rush! Oh yeah, by the way, one more thing... Yesterday, 400-500 AF of water EVAPORATED from Lake Powell... When RUSH Lake is full, it holds 243 Acre feet... We're not asking for much!
