Where to Ride 5/21

Postby Craig Goudie » Mon May 21, 2007 8:49 am

UL looks like the call for rainy 5M windsurfing in the PM. Look for 6.5
conditions at Noon, building to 5.5 conditions by 6 PM. The IR shows a
batch of Rain headded through from now until about Noon, then maybe
enough partial clearing that you don't have to sail in the rain.

Rush has similar conditions for Kiters, it's 13M material right now,
but expect a bump in wind speed that might get you down to your
9 by 3 PM. Be careful of the thunderheads out there, there's some
hard rain headed that direction right now (8:40).

I think you could get a ride early at DC if you had to go there. think 7.5
at 11 AM rapidly degenerating to swirly gusty conditions by 1 PM.

Sulfur cold, and rainy, but planable PM in the 7.5 range.

Tomorrow looks like residual North, good at Rush, and maybe planable
at UL on huge gear.

Remember this forecast is just informational, and not intended to recommend specific sailing. You make the decision whether it's
safe (or risky enough) to ride. (My disclaimer in case ya'll head for
Provo Boat harbor today) (I'm not sure I'd go, but I hate sailing in the rain)
