Rush - What to do when the moss swallows your kite lines

I am not sure if anyone else will be going to Rush during its final days. It has gotten very shallow and mossy. I will keep going until it gives up the ghost for mud-slathered sessions on buttery water.

First few tips deal with avoiding the moss:
1. Most obvious tip, don't drop your kite! Of course, there are days when the wind drops off and down it goes.
2. When your kite is going down, try to make it land on the trailing edge and keep your lines taut in order to keep them out of the moss.
3. Stand up and actively move around to keep the lines elevated.

Okay, it happens your kite lines are covered with moss, what do you do next.
1. If the kite is downwind of you release the kite so that it is fully depowered. Unhook from your bar and drop it. Walk your way up the line to your kite and detach the kite from the lines. If the bridles are weighed down, hold onto the leading edge and remove the hunks of moss.
2. Leave your lines and walk your kite back to the closest shore. Yes, I know this means that you are going to have to walk to shore twice. Once for the kite & board and the second time for the lines. However, this will actually save time as when you drag the kite and lines across the lake you are literally fishing for moss. It will accumulate into huge chunks that can take hours to remove.
3. Walk back to your lines. Wind up slowly and remove the chunks as you go. The moss will be fairly easy to remove.
4. Go to shore, reattach lines and away you go.

I have only had to do this once so far this year. It took me about 30 minutes to complete vs. 2 hours a couple years ago when I dragged in my rig.
