After watching Cloud 9 last night, I thought we can make a movie with Utah locals. We don't have to leave the state and Chasta comes to us, we don't have to go to him. I am not proposing a movie for general release, rather a movie shot by us for us.
I have access to 2 HD cameras and tripods. My idea is to set them up on good weather days. If the riders will take turns filming and riding, we can come up with some great footage. I will bring a small whiteboard, so that riders can record their names. I think it would be cool to have a lot of local talent on screen. I want to include footage of big boosts, kite loops, handle passes, kickers, rails, powder shots, gliding, and crashes.
My experience last year is that what works best is to setup the cameras in a specific location with 2 camera angles and then to have several riders ride past. Trying to scan the hill while holding the camera in your hand makes for choppy footage.
I will try to post ahead where I am going in case you want to meet up and help shoot film/ride. Let me know if you are interested in the project.
