Dear Sailors

Kevin MacCabe, a fellow Sailor and good friend of mine brought this to my attention, pertaining to the practice of whaling. He compiled the response information listed below. If you feel strongly as I do about this matter, please implement and forward this information to your associates.
With enough action and response we may make a difference.

Sincerely,

A Japanese whaling fleet is on it's way to the southern oceans, near Antarctica, to kill more than 1,000 whales - including 50 Humpbacks (the ones that sing), 50 Finback (the second largest whale on earth), and over 900 Menke whales. I'm sending a letter to the Japanese agencies listed below explaining that I'll be buying alternatives to Japanese products at every oppurtunity - until they stop killing whales and dolphins.

If you feel inclined to do the same, the links listed below are for Japanese agencies where one might protest the pending whale hunt.

Japanese Prime Minister's website (use "contact us" at the bottom of the page) - http://www.kantei.go.jp/foreign/index-e.html

Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry - webmail@meti.go.jp

Japanese Ministry of the Environment - Moe@env.go.jp

Japanese Whaling Association - webmaster@whaling.jp

If you want to send a form letter try this link http://www.whales.org.au/alert/japan/letter.html .

Most of us know whales and dolphins are highly intelligent. They care for each other and feel pain and loss. Hunting them is criminal enough but calling it "research" then selling the meat for public consumption is murderous.

thanks for taking the time to read this,

kevin
