Utah Summer Games Clarification

Sailors

After reading several posts pertaining to the Utah Summer Games, I though it would be a good idea we get clarification on a few items.

The Summer Games are going to be a RIOT!

Park Service and Summer Games Liability waivers need to be signed by each participant at registration, 9:00am-9:55am.
You can get these forms and email/fax them to me herehttp://www.utahwindriders.com/forum/summergames.php.

The general Skippers meeting for everyone is 10:00am, Windsurf and Kite Board will have their specific Skipper meetings afterwards as scheduled.

The Park Service requires me to have 2 EMT's at the event. I have secured the services of two Fire Department EMT's from North Ogden.
The Games were never in jeopardy of a no go.

I have approval from the Deer Creek State Park Service to hold the Kite Board event.

Saturday June 14, Beverly Riedel (USG Sailing Treasurer) and I went to scope out the location for the Kite Board course.
In question were the waters North West of the Island Resort Boat Ramp (South West of the Island) be permitted to have the Kite Board course set in this location.
According to the Park Service the waters West of the boat ramp are restricted as a wakeless, no tow area. The Park Service reconfigured the buoys in a North / South alignment to form this area of the bay.
After motoring around looking for a good location to set the Kite course, we found Spencer and several other Kiter's at the beach North of the Island. He recommended this location as good spot for us to set the course in the waters North West of the Island. The Park Service has granted approval; so this is the place!

The RSVP for the dinner party has been extended to Monday June 16; if you want to eat dinner with us, you will need to be on “The List” $8 per person. 801-815-2521

Thank you for your support of the Utah Summer Games!

Sincerely,
Brett Bingham

Brett-
I know you were talking of setting up some kind of box course? Is this still the plan? Last year the start was very narrow and tight. This created some serious bottle necking at the start line. Depending on the amount of entrants I think it would be possible to run the entire fleet at once providing we have a wide start line(the finish line could be narrower) and enable to run several races throughout the day. This would be quite aesthetically pleasing to spectators. I think we should do a course race with a long upwind leg around a buoy and then a slalom leg down to the finish line? What do you think? Thx- Jason

Jason:

I left this up to Jacob to decide. But yes Brett will be the one placing the buoys. In other words decide between yourselves how to set it up. I told Jake to contact you guys about this and come up with a plan.

Infact you probably want to decide the course, rules, etc. How are you guys going to determine who is the winner, etc?
