sailor killed at Dougs

While I was enjoying my 1st ever 3-Mile Canyon wave cruising extravaganza Friday I guess a sailor got killed at Dougs. The posts on iWindsurf must be the wrong date as the time listed is still in the future. He apparently hit his head on his gear. Someone found his gear and then his body.I know a lot of people hate safety gear but this incident indicates putting up with a little nuisance can save your body.I know a former club member, Mary, came close to losing an eye in a boom incident and I watched a guy at Viento take out a lip and several teeth. Better safe than sorry. And you don't need to be a geek like me with a full face shield. That is just to protect my glasses.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
