New Rider Forum

I propose adding a New Rider Forum to the UWA site for new kiters and windsurfers. That way it will be a lot easier for new riders to go back through the forum threads to get information on gear selection, riding tips, locations, etc. without sifting through all of the other information.

I like hearing from new riders, they have a lot of stoke and that is what makes this sport fun.

I like the idea! Also, I've seen other forums have an "Introduce Yourself" section specific to welcoming new people to the forum, both newbies and grizzled wind riders.

First we need to free the UWA from bondage, then we can look at adding an "Introduction" forum. Just kidding, don't flame...

... Actually when Bordy suggested to add the "I'm going Riding/Sailing" forum, we did it pretty quickly... I do like this idea, however, not everybody browses every forum... One negative about the New Rider forum or even New Registrant/Member (more for people new to the community including new riders) is that those who don't browse every forum won't see some of the questions posted by new riders, whereas in the message board they do see them and questioners get answers from a larger pool of readers...

A big positive I can see is that, it is a place where people can post their superfluous stuff like, where they are from, how and when they got into the sport and I like hearing about those kinds of things sometimes. Also they can band together with other beginners to usurp power over those of us stuck in our ways!

So, I'd say positives out-weigh at least those negs. It's a cool idea and it's worth a try... Call it something like Noobs and Transplants, JK... And then maybe we can have a forum later called Shiners for Whiners... Where people can complain about lack of wind and then get flamed for it! :||
