Tom,

Great article. I picked up a copy of the paper this morning. The photos are great. The story is really good.

I was really happy to see information about some of our spots and the problems we have there. Rush dried up, provo boat harbor unfriendly to swimmers and sailors.

The video is excellent as well.

I saw the article highlighted in my daily email from desnews. I had forgotten it was coming. Great article, fun to read with good highlights of the sports.

Good article. The video sounded like a funeral procession though, like "last of a dying breed". Almost brought a tear to my eye. Better fill up rush and get some nubes in there.

I saw the article when I was flipping through my morning paper (I am the kite bishop, so of course I take the Des News). Nice article with some terrific photos!

Tom,

That is a great article for our "issues". Thank You. You are a great writer as well as photographer. That's probably true about the wind at Rush. Maybe not the same swell! And I had to laugh about the Phelps comment. Didn't think any of my stupid comments would make it in, let alone the Phelps comment. ;)) The Utah Lake stuff is absolutely priceless. Awesome article.

I will email the link to the Utah Lake Commission.

Dimitri info was great... While on the subject of Dimitri, a friend of mine was reading the history of Snowboarding and found Dimitri to have had quite a hand in the development of snowboarding too. Was it the winterstick Dim? I'd like to hear the details on that sometime.

Update ... I hadn't watched the video! Holy cow Tom... You are the man!... That vid is SO freaking cool! I wish I would've been here on "Super Tuesday" at Utah Lake in stead of on a Disney Cruise, wait, that food was pretty good! ;)) Nice loop shots, nice Dave... Freed you're hilarious! And good thing you'd just used the FloBee! (on the beard) ... Also, love the Bach...

Great pictures! Thanks for your good work! Great video also! You need to turn your camera over to one of us, and let us take some more ripping shots of you. Take it easy!

Hey Tom, big stoke for those who don't know windsurfing. People I know who had heard about the sport from me but had never seen it live were pretty amazed at how fast and exciting the photos and video looked. Thanks for not using my duck launch photos for an agony of defeat section, by the way!

The video was great, and I liked the contrast between the Bach and the wild conditions at UL. Our juicy sport has those moments of white-knuckled thrills and measured serenity back to back on any given day and I think the video conveyed that. When you follow with the teabagger video, though, you may have to ramp it up a bunch.

Great comments by our Commodore, too. Not many people could convey in one sound bite what the loss of Rush meant to us, but Rick sure did. Wish our club web site wizards coulda gotten some kudos since they deserve a big THANKS for keeping this great site up and running. Anybody can start something, but it's the continued effort and care from them and Craig that keeps us all coming back.
