A couple of us started putting up kites after waiting for the nasty gusts to clear out. We watched a wind meter read 12-34mph in the parking lot. By 1:00pm there were 7's 8's and 9's in the air. Visibility gradually got better. I had to work at 5 so I left at 3. More and more people were showing up as I was leaving. The sun was starting to peek through too.

I showed up way to early, I new from Billy that it was a total blowout but I had allready clocked out at work. I could tell the wind was strong by the way my truck blew sideways on the icey road leaving work in Lehi. When I arrived it was not looking good. Most the snow was gone off of the hills. I couldn't tell what the lowlands looked like from all the blowing snow.
I decided to head home but as I passed CC I could see a few kiters in Strawberry river parking lot. I pulled in and took a nap for an hour or so. When I woke up there were some 7m flying. I had to wait another hour or so before I was able to launch my 11m. It as really gusty. The snow was pretty good in places but has ice patches mixed in with the good stuff. I was glad to be on skis. I got to play with my Suunto GPS watch that I won at the Superfly. Thanks Sunnto! And thank all you that didnt enter! I am still trying to get it figured out but I was able to get it to read for part of my ride. My Max speed was 32mph. Here is the pic of the tracks. It gets kind of screwy where I get in and out f the truck as I forgot to stop it untill I was a few miles down the road.
