New Reservoir (tiny) Just Added Pics!!

Postby BrettLinde » Thu Jul 16, 2009 3:33 pm

Just read about a tiny new reservoir a few miles from my house. In Riverton/Herriman in the south/west corner foothills of the SL valley. Could be a good place to put a board on the water for ultra newbies or kids to get the hang of it before taking them to the bigger ponds and boat chop.. I called Herriman City and they said it is open to non-motorized craft, even sailboard. Not yet full but have heard reports of locals visiting it and swimming. restrooms, picnic areas, grass lounge areas, sandy beach, sand wash-off area, fishing pier, fish cleaning station, group pavilion and walking trails.

I will check it out tonight and post some pics and more info..

Visited the place today, interesting setup for that neighborhood. It is off of 134th south ant 50th west toward the foothills. follow the road all the way to the

top. It is perfect for teaching kids or adults, sandy beach, shallow and you can walk out 20 to to 30 feet before you are waist deep. Has to be a good 200-300 yrds wide x 150 to 200 yards long.
Taking the kids and start board tomorrow.

Hey Brett,
That looks like a GREAT beginner site that we could all use to teach a friend. Would you take the time to put the location and information on the UWA launch location map at:

Wow beautiful beach! Now if they could make it 10 times as big.

Brett,

I don't know how you ever found this but I will be checking it out as a place to take my grandkids. Good on you.
