Forecasting wind at Strawbs and Skyline

So, all you folks who have been doing this for a few years, what are the tips and tricks for knowing if the wind will be right?

For Strawbs I'm checking the cams/stations at Daniels, but most of them are down. You *can* see the UDOT camera from the commuter site though-- but that doesn't tell you wind. Incidentally, you can pull the URL directly from the camera- maybe it could be linked into the weather page?

For Skyline, there is the Mesowest station, but that seems like an approximation forecast since there is no actual wind meter up there, or am I wrong? There are a few cameras too, but that just gives you viz and snow levels. http://commuterlink.utah.gov/1_devices/ ... rker13.jpg. Whats the trick? Whats the predictor?

Thanks!
