Lake Mojave Info

I might be at Lake Mojave on Monday afternoon. The current forecast is for South wind 15-25 mph. I have heard of launches at 6 mile and Katherine's. Does anyone know where these places are relative to Cottonwood Cove? And where else I might launch, if the wind is North by then? Any warnings?

Hi Chris,

Cottonwood Cove is the Marina and resort just North of 6 Mile. As I recall from driving down there
once, there're no good places to launch a Kite there. On a South wind, 6 Mile is filled with Kiters,
so head toward Cottonwood Cove when you get to the town of Search light, but veer off the paved road to the right on your way down to get to 6 mile. If the wind is North, you'll want to launch at Cabinsite Cove,
just North of Kathrine's Landing. Kathrine's is at the Southern tip of Mohave right near the dam, and a
good 50 mile fetch from Searchlight.
