Them were the days

Wow, Jim! Where did you get those pix? You musta been up there with your high school photography class, huh? This was at least four or so years before I ever went up to DC. I'll admit to a crush on Chris Willard that made windsurfing a pretty attractive sport. I know she moved to Maui and Scott to Corpus, but after that, who knows... They were indeed the folks most responsible for the sport's growth here.

Big news of the regatta i heard later was that that DC's thermals didn't show and that was the last Nationals ever in UT. Is that Rhonda Smith in the tandem photo with Chris?

Good on ya to post those, thanks.

The other girl on the tandem is the girl in the "Worried" photo; I don't think it's Rhonda (and neither does Glenn Dubock.) Glenn thought at first that the "Beauty" might be Rhonda, but on closer inspection of the photo decided that it isn't. I guess we all had a crush on Chris. George Ward kept in touch with her for quite a while after she left Utah.

Pictures that speak a million words... I have a picture of me on my friend's Bic Dufor Wing (atleast I am assuming it was that) about a year after these were taken. I love it. I want to go out at the Hatchery with a rig like these, RIGGED like these. I was too young to REALLY care or understand if there was a standard rigging protocol like there is now. Would the following have been a conversation on that beach, "Far out brother! You've got your sail rigged perfectly, with the body of the sail sagging 6 inches over the boom." Ya know? Or was it simply good enough to have the surface area?

I like the idea of a link where you can look at archive pictures divided up year by year.

I really didn't get out to Rush in the "True Glory days" more than a few times. I'll bet some have some crazy albums of that. I would love to see more of that classic action. Gear, cars, people, etc. It's a little freaky to be honest. That is so cool... Gotta love wooden dagger boards.
