hi out there...anyone been up to bear lake for a session? is it any good? going up with the family next weekend wondering if I should bother bringing my gear ?? thanks mike

YUP. Bring your gear. But check the forecast first...

When it's good up there... It is REALLY fun! The water isn't all that cold either. Just bring a long wetsuit and you'll love it if it's windy. But pick the right beach... If you have any beginners, don't go where the wind is off shore... Especially if one of their names is Slava... (jk disregard the Slava part) :||

The wind is more of a frontal driven thing... But there is a slight thermal that drives quite a fleet of sailboaters. It's not really strong. If there's any forecast for wind then it'll be good at least on the bigger gear. Kiter or windsurfer? It's good for both I think. But just don't launch your kite at a crowded beach if you kite, unless you're downwind enough from anybody.
