Pretty sad to see. I did my share of stuff like that when I was younger. Thank God I grew out of that.

Is SSB "state park" land?..... If not, nothing will ever be done about this problem unless one of us
purchaces this location and fences it off. When I'm kiting SSB, the last thing that crosses my mind is the
parking area. That was a gay video and I wish I was a fly on the cattail that night but, we are, and will
be the minority for some time to come. Thanks Mark

This link will be sent to a few who I know will care. Utah Lake Commission, and a few others. Although, we should talk about it first because we want to minimize LOCK OUTS too! A bit of a conundrum here... Thanks Mark! Rick.

In other words, eventhough the "powers that be" have probably already seen this video, if they haven't, I would hate to complain only to have the gates keep EVERYBODY out... So, for those who go to SSB all the time... What do you think? It's another conundrum... Lots of those lately...

I'm talking with the State about the Adopt a Parks program, not waiting for red necking Utards to smart up. Have the forms, and so far the State will work with a small group of 'caregivers' at Island Beach to be minor, Junior Rangers. Totally spontaneous, all my idea, I could care less if anyone else joins up as I know anyone on this board cares about the water, air, life quality. But the trash /burning/whatever problem is real. Rangers are overwhelmed, demoralized and need anyone's help for simple behavior modification.

Troy treated me to Butterfield Canyon bike ride on Sat. Great idea, his call, he's hiked it. I parked at the top of the canyon in a marked dirt lot where hundreds of cars stop at the trailhead, or continue down to Tooelle. To the north is Kennecott Mine overlook. We rode downhill, shuttled back up, he of course had to go hike out to the radio towers since 5 miles downhilling wasn't enough. The truck next to my car had a flat tire, and behind my car was probably a year old pallet fire with 300 nails, square tacks, screws. Had no choice but to put on my biking knee guards, get a blanket, fork and do an archeological dig for 20 yards backwards. Sure I coulda chanced it and driven backwards, let the old sand/dirt just keep those nasty nails in the exact same spot. Or one nail could have flatted more than one of my tires, and sunset was coming, yes I've got AAA coverage...

I'm going to try the educate method first, lead by example, Rick/Cindi/Layne know how we did it in 2001 at Yuba with simple orange bags, nails on sticks, kids at sunset sticking trash.

I spent a couple days at Bolsa Chica beach last week, north of Huntington Pier. southern Calif. Used to be called "Tin Can Beach" when I surfed it in 1966. Totally clean now, a stunning multi use area and I can't wait to go back. They dealt with oil rigs, marshlands, huge beaches, huge crowds and caring people, not necessarily all surfers /windsurfers made the change happen. keep ya posted...
