Win a free quiver of snow kites

Postby Kenny » Mon Feb 21, 2011 3:56 pm

I have 3 Ozone Snowkites that I no longer need and I thought it might be fun to get some interesting postings on the wind log, rather than sell them off. The include the following: 2003 7.3M Ozone Frenzy, 2003 9.5M Ozone Frenzy, and 2007 12M Ozone Frenzy. All come with bar, lines, and backpack. The 2003 kites have been upgraded with 2005 control bars (w/top hat release). The older kites are a tad slow and less stable than newer kites. However, they would work fine for most. I will give all 3 of these kites to the person that writes the best posting in the wind log during the new few weeks. The contest begins today and ends March 15th. Any windrider is eligible and I will do the judging.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
1. Humor
2. Stoke
3. Quality of the writing
4. Concise - we are not looking for the next epic novel here, just something to entertain.

I hope that this little contest will liven up our windlog. I do appreciate some of the better postings recently. Brian's (aka Windzup) "Blind Dreams" post was the impetuous for this contest. I found it to be imaginative, well-written, and full of stoke. Brian, I would give you the kites, but I doubt you need another Ozone kite. :)))

I think bigwavedave's post from today is in the lead (but Kenny is the judge). "Strawberry Milkshake" created some great, descriptive images along with great analogies........WhitG

While I do agree with whit I also believe that chris brought out much more feeling and emotion it made me want to go kite when I read it. The stoke value was just not in the description of the conditions but also in the reasons I feel we all kite... If you will the roots.... :))) :)))

It's all Brian's fault. He started the dream motif. . .

Who knew there are so many writers wannabes among us? Thanks, Kenny, for letting "us" out of the "closet".

Most incredible community offering Kenny. Props. Good trip reports are inspiring and motivating. You set the rules but, my two cents:

Writing on the internet is worthless without pictures and paragraphs. This post, only having half the requirements, must be 50% fail.

So you can take it, or leave it.

Jason,

Yeah, I am with you some of the posts are over the top touchy-feely!

Remember your"little birds" post at Rush Lake??? That was a winner.

To all, you can also win the prize with a water posting. Not that I am encouraging that kind of crazy behavior.
