last time i was down by ssb on my dirt bike there was little left and now with the state park nearing the flooding stage with the run off not even started yet any ideas on where on utah lake we will kite??
provo bay may be a possibility, it is huge now and almost comes to the south end of the airport?

i have already kited once inside the marina and i love it only problem is the launch and space for kiters
did not go for the snow this year... cant wait for the water

This is where UWA as an orginization should help.
The more people we can show are members,
the more pull we have if we go to the state
to try to get some access.
Some divisions have money they need to spend.
We need to have a membership drive,
(not just a login on the forum)
then go to the state to maybe make us a spot by
Utah Lake State Park.
There was talk on this forum last year,
by people that were talking to the rangers.
Access is always going to be the main issue
Utah windriders are going to need to come together over.
I'm sure this will be discussed at th UWA meeting on th 18th

seems like during the drought beaches were every where. byu sailing has property that is across from the state park... now that the water is rising it may be possible to kite from there. A few years ago it we had a very large donation of sand that was dumped at the waters edge .. the sand needs to be plowed and cleaned but there is more than enough room to launch many kites. i have a key and know the advisor very well we may be able to work something out if we clean up the sandy area. it would be smart to have jet ski at the propery since it would be side shore???

hey all, i'm new obviously to the sport, but drove down to south sandy last summer to check it out. i dream of a wide open beach to hang out on and launch kites from on utah lake. something i can take the girl with me and she will be content just hanging on the beach sunbathing. since we don't have an ocean near by, this is the next best thing, right?

anyway, i'm willing to do whatever it takes to secure a good launch at utah lake. i'll help rake sand, or just do general clean-up, or help move things around the beach. my company up here in SLC has a small front end loader and dump truck that i will offer up if we need to do any bigger construction. when i get back from maui, i'll become a member with UWA and help that way too. i just thought i'd get my offer to help in any way out there.
