Deer Creek Kite Launches?

Postby Erik Holmgren » Thu Jul 23, 2009 5:28 pm

Looking at the forecast for tomorrow, and with a rare day off(50 hours worked by close tonight since monday morning) I'm thinking about trying Deer Creek. Looked at the maps of the launches on the UWA places section, but had a couple questions.. Is there a beginner/low intermediate suitable launch that, should things for me go to hell, allows for a short walk of shame back upwind? ? If so, which one would you recommend?

Thanks Guys,

With the water so high this year, we've been launching at the eastern end of the lake, just a few hundred yards North of 189 along S. Charleston road. There's a grass field there to set-up and launch from, then walk thru the opening in the fence. If there's wind it will be side-on and if necessary you can just come in anywhere to walk back. i recommend booties as there are reeds and all kinds of crap along the shore.
