Heather and I are at Crissy Field with the Ozone team. The boys are kicking ass on their Edge kites.... with 3 in the top 10, several 1st and second place spots... and Chip Wasson holding onto a solid 2nd overall.
We're bringing some love back to Utah...this time in the form of a 17m dedicated Light Wind kite. Rob Whittall sent it over after hearing Utah Snowkiters complain about the light winds we get in the summer. He hopes this will cure the doldrums and keep us smiling until snow flies again. The kite is called the Zephyr, and Rob has been chasing light winds around the southern hemisphere the last few months to dial it in.... after a month in Fiji the Zephyr is signed off and we should have production kites available in Utah later this month.
We've had it up in the air here, but the winds are mostly 9-13 meter range this week. Check out the Twitter updates to keep up on the races at #SFKiteworlds.
Windzup,
Brian Schenck
