Kite Racing rages into winter

Postby windzup » Wed Oct 21, 2009 3:23 pm

Stoked to share the news that kite racing is growing and being embraced emphatically by more and more riders every month.

The Seattle Yacht Club has launched a winter race series that started last week. Plans are to offer Kiteboard Course Races at least once a month. The November race dates are still TBA.

Here is a link to the Press Release from last weeks race. http://www.flyozoneusa.com/stories/adam ... ne-edge-13

Also proud to say that Adam Koch is back into racing, and in his search to find the ultimate race kite, he chose the 2009 Edge after testing several 2010 kites from many leading manufacturers. Adam is not sponsored by Ozone, yet he chose to fly our colors and that goes along way for us. He is rocking the 11 and 13 Edge along with the new 17m Zephyr. Already he feels that the Zephyr is the perfect kite for Seattle's robust wind conditions. On 40 meter lines he was out in 6 mph, and at only 160 pounds wet, he held it down comfortably as the wind gusted up into the low 20's.

Lucky for Utahan's, we won't need to travel to far once the snow flies, as several of the SICR series races will be held in Utah this winter.
Notice of first race is at Skyline December 12th. Also, book your calendars for a Race Clinic day with Chip Wasson on February 13th. More races will be hosted during that clinic. More dates will be announced soon, check http://www.FlyOzoneUSA.com for updates.

SICR = Snowkite Intermountain Cup Racing... it's sicr!
