Pineview Spillway Anemometer

Anyone know anything about the new structure built next to Pineview Dam? It looks just like an anemometer and telemtry, so I assume it is.

Sweet! Now, I can watch for days when it's going nuke thru there to hit the MEGA SUPER PIPE this winter. Let's hope we can get access to the weather sensor.

Thanks Les.

The station was installed by UDOT. Turns out the anemometer isnt an anemometer but a wind power electric generator to operate the camera and telemetry. The station isnt performing that well because of lack of wind (maybe we could have been consultants on this one). Considering solar panels, but no sun there? not looking good for the wind enthusiast.

On a good not, the Power Mountain/UDOT sensor installed last year at the top of hidden lake and hit by lightning last year, should be up and running soon.
