Terrain out past Strawberry

Postby bigwavedave » Wed Jan 06, 2010 2:03 pm

Wondering if anyones ever been out past Strawberry near Tabiona on the 35. I've never been there but the topo make the terrain look open enough and the elevation seems similar to strawberry. Just wasn't sure if it was accessible and open enough. Mostly curious as it looks to be blowing much better than strawberry (about 20 out there right now) and might be a good option on some days. . .Anyone??

Looks like a lot of farm land but might be some areas in the foothills maybe?

I think your talking to your self,,,,, :)))

I've wanted to go up the canyon above Tabionia to see if there is any south wind possibilities.

I'm down - that plateau just up the canyon looks like it's got good potential!

I've never tried to kite there, but I was looking at the wind at Starvation Res a lot at this summer. It seems like when the north and south winds are barely running into each other, that there is is pretty big west wind push around fruitland and duschene. I used to ride my bike out there a bit and it almost always got windy in the summer - don't know about winter. There is a ton of open land out there.
