Skyline white capped

Postby windzup » Thu Oct 06, 2011 9:28 am

Awoke this AM to see a clearing in the storm that revealed a solid white cap on Skyline. For sure not enough to ride, but enough to get the ground cold and begin building a good base. Still to early to truly tell, as we would need this to repeat every week to be able to ride on Halloween again, but a nice sign to see that Utahs longest kite season is around the corner.

Bring it... Old Man Winter!

Awesome!! Stopped by my house for lunch and arrived to almost 3 inches on the grass. of coarse its gone now, but it sure gets the stoke on. Hey does anyone know if there has been some road construction in Fairview canyon? My last trip up was in mid may and i could see the road starting to break away from the mountain in a giant 50 yard wide crescent shape! anybody been up there lately?

The road is repaired and in as good of condition as is possible. That really bad section has already began to sink again tho... My retired fishing buddy tells me that section has been sinking every year since it was constructed a few decades back. Basically the road is good with a couple bumps that you better slow down for.

That said, Heather & I seriously joked that when we moved here we increased our chances of death based on the heavy rock fall from driving the canyon daily in winter and spring. A worthy risk for easy access to high elevation conditions.
