I was there at Targhee, the day he set the cliff jump record. It was Huge. He was a man that put God first. Jamie is in Pow heaven now.

But man, what a way to start the season :/

Super sad way to start the season. Dicey out there. Two things to ask yourself. Is this slope going to slide? If it does what will happen? South-Chute is super boney, steep, and devoid of safety. Not a good choice for the conditions. Jamie was a good dude, talented athlete, he will be missed. Let's hope things calm down out there. Until then, think about the second question.

Local Snowboard instructor at Skyline, went for a backcountry ride on Sunday and triggered a cornice release. Watch out for the wind loaded slopes if you are up there, its a sign that any cornice could give.

I was up at Alta yesterday and saw three rider-triggered slides in 30 minutes. One took the rider for a fast ride and he ended up with a broken femur. There was definitely an aggressive attitude on the mountain. Very sorry to hear about Jamie... I met him at Brewvies where his cliff jump was premiered in a documentary. Very sad.

My longtime friend Cam was the guy who broke his femur. I was supposed to go with those guys but wasn't too stoked on where they were going and decided to ski a mellower run. Glad I did.
