OK OK guess I'm the reason this whole discussion is happening. Haven't had a wind fix in a long time so I got to Rush before any one else. Manwarring did say to get there early for the full Rush is Plush experience. Todd and John pulled in a couple of minutes later, typical hand slappin' what's happnin' BS and then time to pump up. First time out on the water this year. The wind and nerves gave my gut that Taco Time growl, had to wonder if the drysuit was a good idea. John pumped a 12, I usually go two M smaller than the crew. Pulled the 10m, pumped up and LET THE KOOK SESSION BEGIN!! Do not let anyone tell you that the lines are kook proof, but that will be revealed in a later chapter. Finally got ready for a throw (oh yea, didn't tell you that I used the bar with the long lines "Kookie ,Kookie lend me your comb"), had the kite walked to the water, my back to the cars, launched and before I knew it, the kite had gone from 3 o'clock the 9 o'clock. Happened so fast I didn't even have time to load up the Depends. Thanks for the save Todd. If this would have happened a couple of hours later, I would have had a fender sandwich for lunch. And no, my insurance would not pay for the damage. Anyway, have to agree with Todd, if the shit hits the fan the kite goes through the window so fast you have no time to react. Had a similar thing happen a few years ago with an old Instinct. Line around the wingtip, launch and wham, 3 to 9 and a few yards down the beach. Always remember, Don't be a kook if you know it's gonna nuke!!!
