5/25 Rush 12 & 10M

Postby Kenny » Sat May 26, 2012 9:54 am

Arrived around 1:30 PM to light winds out of the north. The Holmgren's were there and said that they had good rides on a north wind. The wind didn't appear to be switching in the immediate future, so we rigged up. Doug and Vern on 11M. I put up a 12m foil as I figured the wind would switch fairly soon. Instead the north winds continued to build until I was overpowered on my foil. I came in and rigged a 10m. The north wind was good all afternoon. It was a nice afternoon with partly cloudy skies.

It was a surprisingly good session. rode lit up on 12m then rigged down to a 9, plenty of power. if anyone should go out today or tomorrow keep in mind it IS significantly colder then it was earlier in the week- I was a bit chilly at first in my 3/2 full semidry, warmed up when the sun came out, but a few were riding bodybags and happy.. surprising considering I was riding in boardshorts there earlier this week.

...and I was significantly underclad in my farmer john. Significantly. Like, was afraid to jump 'cause I didn't want to get any wetter. (yeah, THAT's why I was afraid to jump. Yeah...)

But it was nice to ride my 9m Waroo and be well powered on it.
