The Party Never Stops. Gorge 1st Half 2012

Postby Craig Goudie » Mon Aug 06, 2012 2:51 pm

I am back (In SLC for 10 days), because I do have to work to keep up my addiction (and pay a few bills),
but the Gorge has been good. A cold but windy Spring has given way to a warm and windy Summer. There
has been a stiff current this year, and a high river (up until a week ago), but nothing like last year, and the
rumor is that The Wall is sailable again. Of the 35 days I've been in Oregon, I've sailed 33. Of the 2
nonsailing days, one was really a no winder, and the other was a honk'n 3.7 day during which I was just too
beaten up (from all the previous 3.7 days) to sail. The Rat regulars (Sarah, Linda, George, Melinda, Darren,
Stuart, Tom H., Jim, Sharon, Rick B., Dave, Rachel, the omnipresent Gunars) with special guest appearances
by Jamie and Kathy, John, Ken, Josh. Mike, and Tom W., have pretty much packed parking lots and ripped swells from
Roosevelt to Stevenson. Wine and cheese beach parties at the Hackery, brough a little festive culture
to the continued Summer Bacchanalia. I need a vacation to recover from my vacation! But that ain't happening, so
maybe you should head for The Hood and get some rides, because mid-Summer in the Gorge rocks, and it's
none to windy in Utah. Hope to see you up there (in a couple of weeks).

-Craig

Craig- So cool you've gotten all those great days. You deserve 'em. Particularly since you're so selfless and always remember to give us poor slobs stuck here in Utah those great forecasts. I, for one, am living vicariously through you and the rest of the Utah crew in da Gorge. (I hope to be there in September)

Sail on, bro!
