Does anybody know if Strawberry Res. has thick enough ice to ski on?

Thanks.

Some areas are thick and some aren't. If You can see open water by the Launch area then don't go there. I know the marina and Chicken Creek East should be thick enough. I hope you have fat ski to ride out there. there's a lot of snow out there.

Have fun snorkeling!

Rode chicken creek this afternoon mostly it was all frozen but I took one tack way out on to the lake and quickly turned around when the feeling under my feet changed, I looked back and could see water seeping up through my tracks Good thing there was plenty of wind so I was plaining on the ice/snow had I stopped with all my weight on the ice who knows.... So be careful

There is thousands of acres of ridable terrain that is not on the lake at strawberry you could ride for days and never need to go on the Ice... Just a heads up.

If you go on the weekends you can usually use the ice fishermen as indicators of where the ice will hold.

That happened to me last spring at Chicken creek and it was cracking and filling up with water behind me-- that gives you focus man! But the wind was light and I was having trouble keeping the kite up and almost went in. Turned around and got out of there to the hills.
