PLANING FINALLY!!! Geez what a drought it's been! Good thing I took up rowing in earnest this year.

Anyway, all the usual characters and then some were out this morning at G'ville to get some rides. Freestyle team, Mike, Josh, along with Josh's bro, Matt, Sarboard rep from Michagan, but most recently from Chicago (where he surfed and sailed big faces on Northeasters), and Gina, who sails in 20+ mph gusts and somehow manages to still keep her baseball cap on. Joined by soul surfers Jim and George and the Yoda of G'ville, Ken. I got lots of rides, but those on the 6.5 gear, John F., Grant, Duane K., were more powered more of the time.

Got on the water around 8:00. 5.7 was marginal for a while, then wound up, then marginal again around 10:00. All the same, great, great, fun to be planing and jibing again. Yahoo, love our little weird pond!

Warmest water in Grantsville history. And for August 1st the pond is about 3/4 full.

Not bad.

Get those morning sessions whenever possible.

Summer sailing should be highly valued.
