Black Friday surprise! As late as 12:55 the National Weather Service was calling for "Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Calm wind." They got the sunny part right and were pretty close on the temperature, but shortly after 1 PM the leaves began to rustle, and by 1:15 things started to look promising. I got on the water about 2:30 and immediately regretted not rigging bigger, but by 3 the wind had filled in enough to allow pretty consistent planing with a 7.5. The water level is gradually rising, and the water temp is, of course, falling - I got a reading of 42F with an IR thermometer, but I'm a bit skeptical of that figure. In any event, my dry suit and neoprene mittens provided more than adequate warmth.
