Pretty much as normal, Grants on the day of the front can be kind of funky but it definitely blew. We tried to force the issue at 8:30 by going out on 5.2/6.0 but, after a half hour switched to 6.5/7.0 and were off to the races. Back to the 6.0 after 10:00 and then to the 5.2 at noon after a huge gust snapped my harness line and sent me flying. By then everyone but me had left. There weren’t even any fishermen. By 2:30 the Stansbury’s had disappeared in a cloud of dust and I had to deliberately go down in the SE corner and wait for a lull. I quit at that point and was glad I did looking at the wind meter readings. John, Steve, Eric, and George showed up. Smiling at the performance of my new Ezzy 5.2 Tiger. And the 1st sail day out of 11 that it was warm enough to go without a hood. Still, I was the only one that wasn’t in a drysuit.
