Pretty light by anyone's standards, though it was steadier light wind than last Sunday and Jim got a bunch of rides on his 9.5 and Formula. I had a brief plane on my Sumo and J got in the straps herself for a bit. My best ride, however, was when I hauled my new Mistral Equipe II XR (just purchased this lovely 20-year old board) down to the water and got on it. A few minutes out and I had smoothly gotten going and into the back footstraps. It's a keeper, Craig! Haven't had 9 feet of board hanging out over the waves in front of me for a long time. What a hoot. Just the one ride all the way across and a reasonable facsimile of a carving jibe.

Then it lightened up and I tried the new modified rig on the Equipe, which now guarantees near-planing in any conditions. Works great! Forget SUPs. Check out my Surf Scull - I think it's the future for light or no wind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlEf0bYDhU4. You could even take a cooler along!

Great post sail beer on the grass in the sunset.
