Grants day-before-day-before (Wed), smooth but not too powerful, day-before late but relatively smooth (Thur), and day-of (Fri) as usual pretty difficult. That just seems to be the way at Grants. Winds were stronger earlier than Thursday and I was able to get out on the big planer and have a good time for a while. Then I switched to the 115 and went ripping in some pretty good wind lines with high gusts. Then finally we got a couple of 4.0 windlines (Mike said he got catapulted 3 times). Then Mike and I barely floated back to shore in a huge hole while Patrick was stuck on the other side. With it West by then, Mike went to work. I lingered a bit hoping for a comeback but, being past the 8 hour mark by then for the 3 days, with hands and feet shot and the back in spasms, I bagged it. By the time I left Patrick was catching some nice windlines again. Mike was on his 5.6/109 freeride rig and Patrick was on his 109 and possibly a 5.7. Nice sesh before fall starts.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
