I hadn't sailed Grants for about a month, so I was shocked when I rolled around the corner to see that the tub had lost so much water. 250 steps to the water! I think the last time I was there it was 40-50 steps, and this spring it was about a dozen. My first reach was surreal against the far "cliff" (dike), as Ken has noted it seems 100' feet high (I think it's about 40'). Started on a 5.8m 85L board, but then Ken rigged his 7.0 and a bigger board, I did the same (6.5m), then we really started screaming. Had a great opportunity to introduce my new board to Utah waters (JP 112 freestyle wave), I think she likes it! Even with the long walk, even with the short reach, we had a blast, and isn't that why we do this thing? Wind got a little funky around 10:30 and we called it.
